Christy and her husband, Michael, are blessed with seven adult children and enjoy the special joy of being grandparents to four granddaughters and a grandson. They treasure time spent together and especially love the outdoors. As active members of Northern Lakes Church in Cumberland, their Christian faith is at the foundation of their family and life.

Christy's passion for Christian education has shaped her personal and professional journey. She began her career in office management at a Christian school in Iowa, after years of homeschooling and teaching music. Her academic background reflects this lifelong commitment to learning and service: she completed biblical studies coursework at Faith Baptist Bible College, earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Northwestern, and a Master of Science in Education in School Business Management from the University of Wisconsin. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education (EdD) in the Leadership in Innovation and Continuous Improvement program at Concordia University.

Since trusting in Christ as her Savior as a young child, Christy has sought to live in light of Jesus’ sacrifice and grace. Her favorite verse, Proverbs 3:5–6, reflects the heart of her faith: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
