statement of faith

1. The Word of God

• We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21) 

2. The Trinity

• We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. (Luke 3:22, 1 Peter 1:2, 1 John 5:7-8, Ephesians 1:17)

3. God the Father

• We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:6)

4. Jesus Christ

• We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, true God and true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His Virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, His perpetual intercession for believers, and His personal visible future return to earth. (John 1:1, John 1:14, Isaiah 7:14, John 2:11, John 8:58, Romans 4:25, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Titus 2:13, Heb. 7:22-25, Romans 8:27)

5. The Holy Spirit

• We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ and that He is the abiding helper, teacher and guide. (1 John 2:27, John 14:26, Acts 13:2, Romans 15:13)

6. Regeneration

• We believe man was created in the image of God but fell from Grace with original sin. We believe that all men are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (John 1:12, Acts 16:31, Romans 8:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-10)

7. The Church

• We believe in the universal church; a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated believers are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ who love and encourage one another. (Romans 12:4-5, Hebrews 10:24-25, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31)

8. Christian Conduct

• We believe that Christians should live for the glory of God and the well-being of his fellow-men/women; that their conduct should be blameless before the world; that they should be a faithful steward of their possessions; and that they should seek to realize for themselves and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. (James 2:14-26, Romans 12:1-2, 1 Corinthians 6:20, 1 Corinthians 10:31)

9. The Return

• We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal joy of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the lost. (Philippians 3:20-21, Titus 2:13, Acts 1:11)

10. Creation

• We accept the Genesis account of the literal six days of the creation week as a historical record and believe that the universe with all that is in it was created by God; and we affirm that the living creatures were made according to their kinds and did not originate by some process of evolution. (Genesis 1: 1-2, Psalm 33:6, Genesis 1:24-25, Exodus 20:11) 

11. Life

• We believe in the sanctity of life of all human persons, including the unborn, ailing, and aging. We believe that marriage was divinely ordained to produce life and is defined exclusively by the union of one man and one woman, and we affirm that the Scriptures command that sexual intimacy be reserved for this Biblical marital relationship alone, condemning all other forms as sexual immorality. We believe that God created both male and female, and that He designed gender distinctions between men and women, including the Biblically defined and distinctive roles of husband and wife. Since gender distinctions are rooted in divine order, changing or disguising one’s inherited sex (and correlated gender) reflective of this order transgresses God’s design.
